Persistent dry cough (10–15% of patients — class effect of ACE inhibitors)
Dizziness or lightheadedness (especially first dose)
Headache
Fatigue
Nausea
Hyperkalemia (elevated potassium)
Increased serum creatinine (expected, mild)
Hypotension (especially first dose)
Angioedema (life-threatening swelling of face, tongue, throat, lips — 0.1–0.5%)
Acute kidney injury (especially with NSAID co-administration or bilateral renal artery stenosis)
Severe hyperkalemia
Neutropenia/agranulocytosis (rare, higher risk in renal impairment and collagen vascular disease)
Hepatotoxicity
Pancreatitis
Stevens-Johnson syndrome
Toxic epidermal necrolysis
Ageusia (loss of taste)
