GI upset (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea) — 20–30%
Photosensitivity (sunburn more easily — important to counsel)
Esophageal irritation/ulceration (take with full glass of water, remain upright 30 min)
Yeast infections (vaginal candidiasis)
Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea
Severe photosensitivity reactions
Permanent tooth discoloration in children <8 years (medicine deposits in developing teeth)
Intracranial hypertension (pseudotumor cerebri) — rare, stop medicine immediately
Medicine-induced lupus
Hepatotoxicity (rare, especially IV at high doses)
