Elevated liver enzymes
Tendinitis and tendon rupture — particularly Achilles (boxed warning); risk highest in >60 years, concurrent corticosteroids, renal/liver transplant
Peripheral neuropathy (boxed warning) — may be permanent
CNS effects: seizures, psychosis, toxic encephalopathy, suicidal ideation (boxed warning)
QTc prolongation and arrhythmias
Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea
Hypoglycemia (especially with sulfonylureas)
Aortic aneurysm/dissection (FDA warning 2018)
Hypersensitivity/anaphylaxis
Severe skin reactions (Stevens-Johnson syndrome)
Hepatic failure
Blood dyscrasias
