GI upset, nausea, dyspepsia
GI bleeding (peptic ulceration — dose-dependent)
Tinnitus (ringing in ears — sign of salicylate toxicity at high doses)
Bruising (due to antiplatelet effect)
Major GI bleeding and perforation
Intracranial hemorrhage (small absolute risk, increases with dose)
Salicylate toxicity/salicylism (tinnitus, nausea, hyperventilation — at high doses)
Acute aspirin overdose: mixed respiratory alkalosis + metabolic acidosis, hyperthermia (potentially fatal)
Aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD) — bronchospasm in aspirin-sensitive patients
Reye's syndrome in children with viral illness
Hypersensitivity/anaphylaxis
Hepatotoxicity (high doses)
