MDD: 20mg once daily in the morning; may increase to 20–60mg/day after several weeks; OCD: 20mg once daily; titrate to 40–60mg/day over several weeks; Bulimia nervosa: 60mg once daily in the morning; Panic disorder: 10mg/day initially; titrate to 20–60mg/day; PMDD (Sarafem): 20mg/day continuously or 20mg/day during luteal phase
MDD (8–17 years): 10mg/day; may increase to 20mg after 1 week. OCD (7–17 years): 10mg/day; titrate to 20–60mg.
No adjustment required.
Use lower or less frequent dosing in hepatic impairment. Active metabolite norfluoxetine has a longer half-life.
