Managing Farxiga Side Effects

Like all medications, Farxiga can cause side effects. However, not everyone who takes this medication will experience them. Many side effects are dose-dependent and may improve as your body adjusts to the medication. Others may require dose adjustment or medical attention.

When to Seek Emergency Care

Seek immediate emergency medical care if you experience signs of:

• Severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis): difficulty breathing, swelling of face/throat, hives
• Signs of liver problems: severe abdominal pain, jaundice, dark urine
• Severe muscle breakdown (if applicable): extreme muscle pain, weakness, dark/brown urine
• Any life-threatening symptoms described in the Serious Side Effects section above

Tips for Minimizing Side Effects

• Take the medication exactly as prescribed — don't exceed the recommended dose
• Take with food if GI side effects occur (unless contraindicated)
• Stay well hydrated
